Folder Pair Advanced Window

The design of the Folder Pair Wizard is targeted for quick and easy creation of a Folder Pair for copy or synchronize action.  If you want to fine tune the behavior of such copy or sync action, you will need Folder Pair Advanced Window.  The Advanced window could be opened by either:

1. Select a Folder Pair entry in the Folder Pair list view, and then select "File -> Open (Advanced)" from the Main Menu; or

2. Right-click a Folder Pair entry in the Folder Pair list view, and select "Open (Advanced)" form the context menu.

The General Tab

This is where you can define a name for this Folder Pair, defined the path of the folders, enter login information for disconnected network paths, limited not to drill into the sub-folders, or try to unplug the drive after finish if it is removable.

The Action Tab

You can specify on this tab whether you want to simple Synchronize two folders, Make a Back copy, or Merge and manage the contents of two folders.  After choosing one of the actions on the upper part of  this tab, you can set the Default Run Options for such action.  These options will be applied when you simply "Run" this Folder Pair.  In case that you need to ad hoc change these options, you can choose "Run with Options..." for the Folder Pair.  For a detailed description of how these copy and sync affect the behavior of the action, refer to Folder Pair in action: Sync, Backup, and Merge folder.

The Filter tab

When you want to narrow down the type of files to be copied and synced in this Folder Pair, you can add both inclusive or exclusive Filters base on file name, modified date, file size, or file attribute.

The Options tab

You can further fine tune some minor copy behavior of the Folder Pair and the type of Alerts you want to view before the files are actually being copied or deleted.

The Batches tab

You can add this Folder Pair to different Batches for grouped execution.  All Batches that include this particular Folder Pair are listed on this tab page.

The Misc tab

On this tab page can create Windows Schedule Task to run this Folder Pair, specify the command line to be executed after the Folder Pair has been successfully Run, shutdown or hibernate the computer after Run, or create a Shortcut icon to Run the Folder Pair easily from Windows Desktop or Explorer.
